Send a message to Mitch McConnell and tell him to extend the 1988 law banning guns that are undetectable in metal detectors or X-ray machines.
Extending the law should be a no-brainer. The law simply mandates that undetectable guns – such as ones made from plastic – include a metal component to make them detectable. And even in the bitterly divided House, it passed with bipartisan support.
But unless the Senate acts within days, the law will expire. And gun lobby extremists are speaking out against even this eminently sensible measure.
Don't let Senate Republicans doom this bill via a filibuster.
